  • 3' Lift Kit Bushing Replacement

So I ordered up the rusty's 3' leaf pack kit and that will be arriving on Wednesday. I have heard discussions that many times the bolts that hold the stock leaf's in place either break or the bushings need replacement. So I'm thinking about buying this kit from Quadratech of Daystar Greasable Rear Shackle bushings. Seem like a good deal, or has anyone had any experience with this?

I wouldnt be worried about the rear shackle bolts getting stuck, its the front bolts that get messed up.

      seems pricey.
does the leaf pack not come with new bushings?

helped my friend with a leaf job last weekend and we had to burn the bushing out.

I won't know until Wednesday when it shows up. I bought the Rusty's 3' kit with the full leaf pack's because my stock leafs are shot.

            • Rear 3" Leaf Springs
            • Front hydro preformance shocks
            • Rear hydro prformance shocks

I bought the entire Leaf pack, not the add a leaf? Will this still be necessary to replace?

your new leafs will come with bushings, and centering pins. they bolt right in so you need nothing.

rusty's leafs come with bushings in them already. the shocks you have to press them/ pound them in, but the kit comes with everything you need, unless you break a bolt. then just go to a hardware store, but make sure any suspension bolt you replace is replaced with a grade 8 bolt.

Drench the bolts in PB blaster a few days before doing the lift, that should break the rust free so the bolts wont break

even better than PB blaster is Aerokroil, its the most downright amazing penetrating oil on earth. Jonstone Supply has it, alittle bit expensive and hard to find..... commercial grade though

Does anyone know the size of the bolts that hold on the leaf springs in a 96 XJ? I wanna have a couple extra in case I have to cut them out or they are rusted in.
