so my buddy is having issues with his wj steering, wandering. he found out why this is happening which is the ball joint connecting the drag link to the jpitman arm is getting torn up we think from the increase angle on it from a 4 inch suspension lift.

so he needs to know what to do about this. we figured we could go for something aftermarket so we dont dump money into shit parts but seems like there isnt much aftermarket for a wj.

second we thought ok, drop the pitman arm to attain necessary angle and it shoudl fix the problem. well in order to do this yeah we can get the drop arm but then need to do something about the broken drag link, either get a new oem one or an aftermarket. he thinks an oem will do it once the drop arm is installed.

has anyone ever dealt with this? we need some experience to talk here.

also, in my case, would this happen in my 4 inch tj? wear down the ball joint i mean? this will be alleviated for me soon with an aftermarket steering setup but i do wander a bit and wondered if it was from the same thing.

    thanks for any advice guys

Id say buy a new tie rod end, then get a goferit (I think that's it) flip insert.

Flip the axle side of the drag link and you'll prolly be just dandy.

what he did is buy a new aftermarket drag link, is relocating it to the top of the knuckle, and eventually is gonna relocate the tie rod to the top of the knuckles i believe. would this be something he wants to do? seems to make sense to me at least....

Thanks for the Info. Just ordered 3 of those goferits, and a new drag link and tie rod of Kevins Offroad. So I will Flip my Drag link and Tie Rod, and hopefully solve this issue.
