          is it often that the actual metal part of a motor mount fails on the 4.0? i can see bushing part going, but really, the metal part ?

            My buddy recently had the stock engine mount bracket break, dropping the motor and having the distributer smash against the frame real shatering it into about 20 peices.

            I've heard only good things about brown dog mounts. Same guy got those after the stock one blew up. Double welded pure beef.

              the bolts fail by sheering in the block

              these are made to create more mounting points to spread to load

                I broke mine off the block. Got some MORE mounts so i never have to worry about it again
