  • Dana 44 yoke

I have been thinking about drilling out a dana 44 yoke so i can put ubolt straps in instead of bolting the stupid straps through. I dont know however if the yokes that come with the u bolt straps are any beefier or built up around the holes for the straps than a regular yoke. Can anybody verify this for me?

I figure i can just bolt it into the mill here at school and drill it with some degree of accuracy but i dont want to make the yoke weaker. thanks guys

ive heard of it being done successfully, for what its worth

not sure how much that helps

i can check for you, IIRC the d30 yoke is the same as a 44...so i can compare my d30 yoke to my rear ubolt 44 yoke if u want

i already texted alex but for the sake of tech:

theres a bit more meat on the ubolt yoke on the nut side, as expected, however i think theres enough to make it work on the strap yoke with some clearancing for the nut
