  • lockers?

now that things are starting to look up a bit here, working out all the bugs that the moron before me did to my poor jeep, im curious about lockers. never had a locked rear or front so here goes the noob questions bear with me front or rear locker? what type? spool, automatic, electronic, air? id say 70% of my driving will be on road until i get a beater POS to drive around and make my jeep my full on toy. whats everyone else runnin?

Aussies front and rear here. For mostly on-road driving, I'd lock the rear first.

I have a lockrite rear now and like it. It took about 50 miles to break in. Some people like spoils in the rear because they're more predictable. Not saying a locker is relatively unpredictable but just be aware its there when it rains or snows. I don't mind streeting the lockrite and I barely know its there 95% of the time

same, aussies front and rear. just to put in perspective i am manual and short wheelbase tj(worse setup for an autolocker such as aussie, lockrite, spartan vs long wheelbase and auto trans) and i do just fine with them. i do know they are they when shifting especially highway i have to pay attention but i still love them. easy to install and cheap as well.

standard tranny makes an auto locker way more noticeable during shifts dude. not so much in town but quite a bit on the highway.

okay next question, i love the idea of the aussie locker, however i dont have a clue how to tell if i have a 27 or 29 spline rear? is there a way to identify it without counting the teeth on the gear itself?
