  • help on self made control arm

    hello from South Africa

i am in desperate need of help in the control arm department.
i want to build my own long control arms (RE) as we have to import
if we want the real thing.
Has anybody done it before or does anybody know a site that can
help in building and installing them.
    plus
Which springs can a person use if you want to go longer in the front?

    welcome

    do you have experience welding?

it would be pretty difficult to duplicate the re crossmember, seeing as it's one crazy 3 piece unit.

but what I do know about that kit, is the arms do mount to a replacement crossmember.
and it uses their large superflex joints at the crossmember side and rubber bushings elsewhere to compensate for the binding which comes with a radius arm longarm design.

for springs, many manufacturers make lift springs, but v8 grand cherokee front coils will get you about an inch of lift, and ford f-150 coils will get you about 4".
