  • Do it yourself Alignments.

I need to do an alignment on my Jeep and Ive heard about doing them yourself. I read the Go Jeep write up and I am a bit confused, can some explain how to do the alignment?

Jack jeep up, put front axle on jackstands. Remove front tires. Measure from left to right on the front and back of the rotor. That's your toe. Adjust your tierod with a pipe wrench to make it what you want. Tighten everything up. Put tires back on, drop it to the ground. Have a friend look at your steering wheel, move the drag link either way till your wheel is straight. BAM!

    Takes like 15 mins.

you also want your toe to measure toe-in 1/8" across

i used clamps to hold a level (or any straightedge) parallel against the rotor. this makes measuring easier. then just measure between both sides in the front and the back and adjust the tie rod each time till you get them where you want them. mine is 1/16 toe-in.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

You are supposed to set your steering wheel position and lock it in place before you touch your Toe adjustment, just FYI.

y? when you adjust your drag link it has nothing to do with alignment
