  • RC transfer case drop kit question

I recently put a 4.5" RC lift kit on my 99 xj, it comes with a transfter case drop kit that drops the TC crossmember about 1-2", but the crossmember is held up by 2 studs/nuts and 2 bolts, one on each corner. How do i install these? the kit comes with spacers and 4 bolts..

    Thanks!

Remove the studs and install with 4 new bolts. Use lots of heat and a stud puller or 2 nuts back onto one another. There's really nothing more to it, just a pita.

if you weld a nut to the stud they thread off super easy. little tricks.
No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

Did you put the shocks on yet? If not, the rear upper bolts will more than likely break. There's a few write ups on the web if you run into this problem.

yeah all the upper shock bolts broke... so i made a alteration...drilled 4 new bolt holes about 1/4 inch below the originals... used grade 8 bolts and havent had a problem since! where is that thread by chance??
