  • Not a Jeep question...

But maybe someone will be able to help me out.

I'm working on a 96 Audi A6 wagon... Its the car from hell.
All I want to do is get it finished and get it out of my hair.

Now heres the problem: It wont start.
It cranks, sputters, backfires, but will not turn over.
Its not the timing, which is what it sounds like.

The only error code that pops up is P0120, which says its a bad Throttle Position Sensor.

My question is, could a bad TPS cause the car not to start?

I dont want to throw a $180, non-returnable sensor at this thing for no good reason, so I'd like some input on if we think its a good idea.
Let me know if any of you have any ideas.
    Thanks
