torque specs for hp d30

Installed new inner axle oil seals and read online that 60 ft pounds was what the torque specs are for the bearing caps is this correct, I also need to do the pinion seal, what is the torque for the pinion nut?

55 for the caps. The pinion nut is 220 minimum.

I think its 45 for the bearing caps and 160+ for the pinion nut

use the torque wrench for the bearing caps, thats actually important.

As for the pinion nut, i just crank that baby home, i have had to change so many yokes on the trail, just get it as far as you can with a breaker bar and it'll be good.

Cap 60ft-lbs use loctite.

Pinion nut on a high pinion about as tight as you can get it.
Low pinion uses a crush collar you want to match that to the pinion preload.

How much fun was the seals?

Pinion seal, add silicone under the pinion nut so oil doesn't leak out past the splines.
Also add loctite to that nut.

Actually it wasn't that bad , my dad had a seal tool that fit for the seal and i used a conduit pipe to bang them in, worked well , just a pain to take everything apart again but its nice not to have a puddle of gear oil in my drive way lol .
