  • LCA weld on skid

i found some scrap 3/16" should have enough to make some mini skids for the front LCA's..im new to mig welding but somewhat decent, is it a good idea to weld this on or do i run the risk of weakening the stock LCA mount?

i kind of want to copy these:

they probaly won't be as pretty though...

yeah the xj lca mounts are angle down more and box in the lca's a bit more. i'm sure you can make some skids for them, just make sure you have room to flex them

yea i forgot they were different, IRO sells like strength plates just to weld them on and beef them up so they don't bend, i guess this is why..

it looks like if i made skids though they would hang way low and i dont want to get hung up on shit..

those mounts look pretty stout for stock, youre really gonna have to kill ground clearance to get a skid on there that doesnt interfere with the arm's range of motion. i'd just leave it as is.

yea your right, if anything make something similar to what IRO sells to just prevent them from bending and getting all mangled:
