  • Pitman arm Q's

The pitman arm for my wonton steering seems to be splined at a 45 degree rotation from the stock one. This ends up putting my steering wheel upside down when everything's adjusted correctly. Anyone got any magic to fix this?

It's not something with the drag link, the spline pattern on the pitman arm itself is rotated like 45 degrees from the stock one. It's an XJ arm, too.

45* on the steering wheel isn't much you cannot adjust that out?

you can always cut the drag link shorter is that the right direction you need to go?

It's 45 degrees on the arm itself.

It doesn't matter, use the draglink to realign th steeringwheel

what everyone is saying, it dont matter if the pitman arm is off like that, as long as it bolts to your steering box, adjust your draglink until the steering wheel sits straight again. easiest way is to have someone sit in the jeep watching the wheel, loosen the adjuster on the drag link and turn it one way, ask friend sitting in jeep if the steering wheel is turning the right way. you will be surprised how much the steering wheel moves per turn of the wrench on the drag link

I ended up going back to the stock arm, the reamed one wasn't going to work.
