  • 2 inch or 2.5 inch lift

i am going to be putting a lift in my 03 wrangler. i am looking at the rough country 2 inch coil spacer

    http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_tj_2-spacer.html

and the 2.5 inch spring lift
    http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_tj_2.html

now i kno that the 2.5 has the tcase drop but i am afraid that the drive shaft angle will be too extreme. does any one have any knowlege about either of these kits and if it will work with my 03 wrangler? i would rather do the spring lift because the spacers seem half ass, but it is not for off road just for looks. i would love some opinions.

    thanks

I think he just went too high off the bat and had a hard time troubleshooting some of the issues he was having so now he's going with a smaller lift..? Springs>spacers and I wouldn't worry about the angles with that low of a lift

ya it was just too high. with the 4 inch lift i needed to do so many other mods that i just took it out. i think im just going to do the 2.5 inch springs i need to blow the 500$ credit anyway any the spring lift is nicer and do 31 inch firstone destination MTs i need to blow the 500$ credit anyway

2.5" you wont need SYE/new rear driveshaft. 4" on a tj is where the angle is on the steep side and may or may not give you a vibration at highway speed. what issue did you have with a 4" lift ?

by more mods do you mean sye/drive shaft/break lines???

and, btw you should be fine with 2.5" coils. still gotta check your brake lines

ya and cut the floor and stuff, and you think the 2.5 will affect the breaklines?

why would you cut the floor????

yeah, if you are going to wheel it i would get brake lines. I think you can get away without lines if you only drive it on the street. not 100% sure though

4" you dont need to cut the floor, not sure of any lift that you need too.

basis 4" changes springs, longer swaybar end links, t-case drop, new lower control arms, trackbar relocation brackets, shocks. all bolt on

i know your looking for look so i would recommend keeping your stock suspension, putting in 1 or 1.5" spring spacers and 1" body lift. give you 2"-2.5" without sacrificing ride quality to much.

my old tj had just the 2.25" spacers f/r with xj springs in the front. netted 2.5" and rode like stock. easily cleared 33's as well. if your going for the lifted jeep look i suggest that route. i was very pleased with it

pics cuz i'm a filthy whore

the rc 2.5" lift would prob net you the same look but i dunno what the ride quality is like on it
