I daily drive my jeep on 35x12.50-15s. still havent decided if i should do the 4.56 gears or 4.88s. i want to do what will drive best on the street and get better gas mi. what do you all think ? one thing is i do tow with my xj not huge stuff atvs, jet skis, snowmoble stuff like that.

lol when i worked in this garage with these two old dudes that owned it that i told i was putting 4.88s in it they looked at me like i was retarded. said back in thier day they were always putting higher gears in it for better gas milage. and gas cost was nothing back then. lolOriginally posted by wannabejeep View Post2.73

think about it this way
the difference between 4.56 and 4.88 is 1/3 driveshaft turn per full tire rotation.
i regeared to 4.56 for my 33s, then when 35s came...the difference isnt nearly enough for me to regear. that goes vice versa too IMO
some people will tell you to go 6.87s cuz deeper the better, some will tell you to go 4.10s for "teh mpgs"
4.56 or 4.88 is good to go either way.- Will
