  • blower no blow

So when I first got the jeep the blower worked well, then when I got it on the road it decided to stop working. I wiggled some shit under the dash that i thought I might have kicked with my stupid big feet. After this it worked great for 3 weeks. Today, while trying to thaw the ice off it, it fired right up then quit working. Is there a fuse somewhere that could have gone bad, or a common issue with these things?

My tj has this issue, except it died 5 years ago and future me has become present me. My issue is that I'm not getting any power to the switch in the dash itself. Anyone got any ideas on that one? I'm thinking a relay?

I believe there is a fuse and for some reason I wanna say it's under the hood because the one under the dash is for the engine/outside stuff

              fuse

fuses either work or they dont. Have seen issues with the turn dial switch on tjs and newer xjs, cleaning the contacts usually fixes this. Check for power at the blower when switched on, if present change the motor, three bolts, one electrical connector. Also add light dialectric grease to all connections

yeah I did some research and saw that the roller switches go bad often. One of the few things I didn't steal off my old jeep before it went to the scrap yard.

ok. Well I've sifted through search results for hours now. I need some input!

Blower does not come on at all, therefore I'm doubtful its the resistor. Even if the resistor goes bad, it should still work on high.

Switch- Apparently these burn up all the time, from looking at it, it appears to be OK. No melted wires, no burntness back there.

After looking forever, I found where the fuse is for the blower. If this is the problem, I will punch myself in the dick.

I still have to test the blower motor to see if it will run when supplied directly with 12 volts. If not a new one is $26 from autism zone, and I'll have the pleasure of doing it in the freezing cold here

Is it an inline fuse or what? Because I'm in the same boat, but all the fuses in the PDblock and in the fuse block seem fine. Am I missing one somewhere that I don't know about? The way you wrote that makes me think there could be. Let me know. It's cold out

well according to this thing I found here, the number 5 fuse is a blower fuse.

However, that was not my problem. I went outside, pulled my washer tank out exposing the blower motor. Unplugged it, plugged it back in, tapped on the motor several times with my precision Husky 3/8 ratchet-hammer, got back in the jeep and it fired right up. So basically my blower motor is on it's way out. But that's not a big deal at all, I'll just order one and put it under the back seat.

i have heard of guys replacing the resistor with a rheostat, instead of low, med, little more med, high its much more adjustable.
