tire siping advice?

winter?
what tires?
91 YJ: 4.0, 4" lift, 33" TSL's, SYE, Woody driveshaft, cut flares

ive done it with a razor blade before, it helped, it works but time consuming and hard depending how hard the tread compound is. last year me and my friend went half's on a heated tire groover/siper and it was much easier
