My jeep wont start!!

So for a few months every once in a while when i went to start it, it would do nothing at all. But then when I tried a second time it worked, no problem. so the past week or two the gap from when I first try to start to to when it actually started was getting longer and longer. And now it wont start. I should have taken care of it when it just started, but any ideas of what it might be.

is it turning over?

if it dont turn over at all , check battery , battery connections (take off clean reput on) check terminals at starter. if it will turn over all day long and dont start, check the CPS (crankshaft position sensor)

alright so, it doesnt turn over at all. but theres power because everything else works, radio, lights, gauges, etc.

if its a automatic check the NSS thats another common issue

if the nss is bad it wont necissarily start in neutral, if its an automatic that would be my guess as to what it is, find out where the plug is and jump it with a paper clip, it should start up, when my nss went it was very tempermental about when it wanted to start

why has no one said to hit the starter with a hammer yet?
If that works, pull that bitch out and have AutoZone test it, if it's bad...it's your starter. Lol.

If it starts in neutral, well, everyone basically covered NSS>

if those dontwork take a look at the ignition tumbler......mine went out on me.....along with the nss.........and the starter....and...FUCK I HATED MY LAST JEEP

well, it was the starter.. pulled it out and got a new one.
