  • Transmission question

My cousin is looking for another Cherokee, and he wants a manual. He found an auto for a ridiculous price, and wanted to know what was involved in trying to convert it to manual. My question is two-parted:

One: what would need to be replaced/redone to swap in a manual tranny?

Two: I told him just stick with the auto, but he's pretty set on it. Is the labor realy worth the extra pedal?

IMO it's not worth swapping the trans/transfercases, if he really wants a 5spd he should wait for the right deal to come along.

What would need to be swapped or replaced? Just saying it's not worth it doesn't really answer that.

it's more than just putting a pedal and a tranny in, you have to fuck with the ecu and wiring harnesses. zach looked into it and he gave up lol

Thanks, I thought the ECU had to be swapped but I wasn't sure.
