  • locker wont unlock?

just finished putting the 88 aussie in and it wont pass the "test"...

i've got the rear on stands still with the cover off the diff, tires are on trannys in neutral shouldnt i be able to spin both tires in opposite directions? i had someone hold one side while i tried the other and they just want to stay locked?

    am i missing/retarted or something?

sounds about right, open diff youll be able to spin one while other goes other way, limited slip both will turn both tires in same direction. A Aussie locker is locked all the time except when turning, where it opens and allows the wheels to turn at different rates.

yea i guess its different than the front, when i did the front i could unlock it with my finger on one tire so easily...i spoke with a dude at aussie he said it could simply be cause my tolerances were all in spec but they were on the tighter side or because of the heavy grease i used...

anyways im waiting for the rtv to dry a bit before i throw in the oil and take it for a ride..

guess it just takes more force to unlock the back due to the tolerances

I love the looks of peoples faces in a parking lot when turning and making all sorts of weird noises lol

I've had so many people say "You have a bad ujoint"

I saw this kid in a yj come in to the auto parts store parking lot and his tires chirped like hell when he pulled in and all these people looked at him like he was an asshole, but I knew he was just welded. Its funny the things people must think when they see/ hear our Jeeps do what they do
