So, even though it doesent vibrate while under a load in 4x4 (perfectly smooth) you still say its the sye? I'm not arguing the fact, but I was also told I needed an sye when my u joint had not a single needle left in it and my hub bearing was about to fall off... I know they do get rid of those driveline vibration vibes, but my last jeep didnt have one.. and it didnt vibrate and it was the same year and almost identical lift and drivline. thanks for your help!!

something under my jeep towards the rear howls really bad, but only when i hit the gas, when i let off the gas, it stops. i think my rear end is bad as ive had the jeep lifted for a while now and it just recently started, i think the rear might be starting to skip also. i have no vibes, just a terribly loud noise whenever i hit the gas going over like 10 mph. idk what it is but hopefully when i put in the new rear end it stops. my other xj was lifted just about 5" with no t case drop or sye and it never made a noise this bad.

why not pull the rear diff cover just to see how it looks for now ? my rear made some noise for awhile , didnt check it right away and a bearing left go allowing the carrier to push outwards contacting the cover and "skipping" from lack of pinion teeth contact. slowly went home and this is what i found

Probably what my problem is, but ill be swapping it out soon enough. If it doesn't stop when I put the new axle in ill check the shafts and whatnot lol. Thanks tho, ill take a peek when I get a chance for shits and giggles.
