  • Door handle problems

I took the door handles off the front of the jeep to primer it, put them back on just like they should have been hooked up, lock the door and the next morning (first day of school) the door won't open. fiddling with it in the parking lot later that day, i was able to grab the linkage, lean against the inside of the door, and manually open it. After that it opens and closes like it should. Go to lock the door and the same thing happens again.

Is this a result of the lock or could i have hooked up the handle linkage wrong? it sounds like the lock unlocks and locks when i turn the key, but the handle button feels like the door is still locked

I'm not sure, one of my rear doors wont open. I can push the button all the way in but it just wont open from the inside or out. I haven't really checked it out because I really don't use the back doors all that much but I'm going to look into it tomorrow. Ill see if its the same type of problem as yours and let you know...

Sometimes if you overtighten it the lock/handle will stick like that.
