I run the opposite set up on mine, granted I'm a lot more narrow. I run stock flares up front and nothing in the rears. It works for me, and it looks like I tried

If you do something like that, you could make tabs on the tube and bolt on something to cover the tire on the street. I don't know about you but I like having no fenders for wheeling... full view of the tire and what is around it.
