I know some of you have done it. I am interested would some one be able to give some advice on this? My fucking jeep has a bad habbit for destroying upper rear shock mounts.

for mine we installed rear frame stiffeners, built the shock hoops off of that into the rear cargo area (holesawed for em). spanned the 2 shock hoops with a cross-bar. seemed to work well.

its now a part of my cage structure but without it it was fine as well.

make as small of holes as possible for the shocks and hoops so its easy to seal when youre done.

Ya shock hoops through the floor. Cantstopthestink(tim) got his from trail gear I think, they are bent 180degrees, makes it way easier to cut three holes instead of what I did and have huge portions of my floor cut out. But you will def need a crossbar, I also took a note from Justtorchit, and made mine removable, which helps if you want to put shit on the back of your xj

I did mine because I tore the entire crossmember that holds the rear shocks off of the Jeep.

The performance gains are admittedly not massive, but it did eliminate body roll in a big way and gives you a lot of mounting/shock size flexibility. Technically it makes the valving of your shocks more effective the more perpendicular you can get to the axle with the travel of the shock. There is more direct linear force sent through the shock versus at a high angle like stock.

If you're destroying rear shock mounts, is it from over extension? Maybe just limit your travel with straps.

youre either destroying them from over extending or over compressing...so bumpstops or limit straps....
....or the work of going through the floor, lol.

unless your BPEs arent up to par and are just breakin
