So I'm still trying to figure out why my jeep won't run. (In before the 2.5 hater jokes)
But besides that, I'm still brewing ideas for what's "next" with my build.
As of right now I have no need to build tons and run mongo tires, buttttt there's always room for improvement and of upgrades. I'm not looking to stretch the rear because I don't want to have to cut up and ditch my tubes. I know one day down the road I will want tons etc. So what I have "brewing" up top in my cheese machine is......
Stretch the front (not sure on how much). Rotate the steering box, build a new crossmember and redrill and brace the box (flat). Swap to a WJ setup with ruffstiff OTK steering, Clayton HD (straight) track bar with the ota bracket. Shock hoops and Coilovers. The reason me toying the idea of Coilovers is because I don't want to fuck around with new coil mounts, shock mounts etc. run hoops, new tabs on the axle and be done with it.
Like I said, nothing is set in stone, just toying with some ideasLast edited by Henchman; 11-29-2012, 10:24 PM.Hench

So its been a while... But I'm back at it again
Jeep is finally sound and running good.
Ordered up new steering from ruffstuff
Installing the new steering, track bar brackets and track bar and she's good to go.
I took care of a few little things like the door latches/handles not working, lights etc
Can't wait to drive it on the regular again!Hench

Back at it again.
The jeep is in the most pieces that it has ever been in.
I am currently doing a frame up on it. I caught the frame before it got bad. Finally got the body off and all of the drivetrain out.
Started cutting off all of the old control arm bracketry and other misc. brackets that are no longer needed.
The frame is now at my friends dads house. He will be doing the repairs on the frame. Then it is going to get sandblasted and a fresh coat of paint.
Oh yeah, the frame fit inside my van
Working on the front axle this week. The passenger side coil mount collapsed. I purchased an artec bracket kit. Those will be going on the axle this weekend. It will also be getting new ball joints and unit bearings.
The rear axle doesn't need much. I will be pulling all of the brake parts off and all of the brake line brackets, sand blasting all of the small stuff and putting a fresh coat of paint on it all.
Debating what to do with my coils. Sand blast and paint and run them or buy a new set. My old ones might be pretty spent?
Doing an overhaul/tlc on the suspension. I have to get new shocks as my old ones are shot
If I have time and it is in the budget I want to run a fuel cell in the back behind the rear seat that I don't have.
Once the frame is back in my possession I will start putting everything back together and then the body goes to his house for some work as well.
Looking forward to this. It is a much needed overhaulHench

Glad that I ended up tearing this apart. I wanted to catch the frame before it got bad. Here is the frame on the drivers side. Inside rail and outside rail. I will be patching and plating both the driver and passenger side.
Started stripping down the 8.8. Just needs new brakes and paint and she's good to go.
The dana 30 is getting new coil mounts and lca brackets this weekend.
Ordering new ball joints, seals, brakes, coil springs and shocks.Hench

Here is what I had found after I had everything apart. Power washed inside and out and started poking around. That is the driver side of the frame. You can see where the old control arm mounts used to be. I never saw any of this when everything was still together. I only found it after it was in pieces. I guess its good I started this?Last edited by Henchman; 06-21-2018, 08:49 PM.Hench
