I'm not normally a fan of tube bumpers on XJ's but I must say, those look pretty damn good.

More progress on da bumpa. I figured out that the tube I am using is 1 1/4" structural pipe. Remember pipe is meausured by the ID. This stuff is about 1 5/8" Od.

That bend in the middle was a nice hombrew job... i took a short tow strap and looped it on each of the corners and hi-lifted in the center to get that bend. REDNECK ENGINEERING AT ITS FINEST! lol.
I am getting excited to finish this project. it is probably my first major fabrication project so there are some quirks and I am quickly learning that i need to plan better for the next one.lol. However. I AM HEWKED ON FABRICATION. so much fun and it really challenges my brain thinking of new ideas and such.
my bumpah will be a touch different than the one a page back but i think it will be a unique rendition of that one.

Here are for the most part "finished fabrication" pictures. I still have to cap the ends and finish off the finish with some sanding disks.
I need some ideas on filling the gap under the tail lights.
following that will be a paintjob to match the rest of the jeep. I am superpleased with how it turned out.
Let me know what you think.2013 F150 fx4 (Tow Pig/DD)- 5.0 with the 3.73 option

I like it!
If you wanted to fill in the tail light gap I guess you could cut that corner protection out, bend the tube up to the bottom of the lights, then parallel to the bottom of the lights and then cut the tube to put the rear fender(ish) inside the tube. Smell what I'm stepping in? Just a thoughtI don't always drink orange juice, but when I do, I prefer to chew it. #madpulp

HRMMMM. that might be a gravy idea. i might try that. Right now I have an LED reverse light in the 2.5" spot on my corners tho. I am using the brake light as a S/T/T.
But maybe on a switch when i need more backup light.2013 F150 fx4 (Tow Pig/DD)- 5.0 with the 3.73 option
