Well over the last 5 months I've been building my 4th XJ which is now my 16th car. Keep in mind I've been on the budget of a college kid that works part time when ever I can. I started off with a MINT 89 xj pioneer edition that had been female owned and well taken care of. It had 97k original miles when I bought it and the interior looked like it wasnt ever sat in. Until I got my hands on it!

Current Mods
- 3.5" skycraper coils,shocks,and lowers
-Bastard packed rear with YJ front springs
-Ford 8.8 4:10s disc 31 spline
-Homebrew Roof rack
-2 10's kenwood speakers and new headunit
-2 hellas on bumper
-2 procomps on roof
-33x12.50 BFG mall terrains on Ravines
-Cut fenders rolled quarters
-carpetless
-homemade switch box
-Removed front and rear sway bars
-2.5" exhaust 40 series flowmaster cat less(offroad use only of course)

Stuff To do
-Install krustys tcase skid
-Install RE double shear trac bar and bracket
-Mount 33x12.50 x terrains
-build bumper
- re gear,re bearing,lock front diff
-297 front shafts as well as convert to one piece passenger shaft
-change cracked exhausst manifold
-build rear bumper
-SYE and cv shaft
-eventually lock the rear

Then wheeled it on stock wheels and tires and It did fair for what it was..


Went to 33's

Broke too many D35 yokes

Finally maned up and spent the $200 on the 4:10 8.8 from a 96 explorer. Which turned out to howl like hell due to bad bearings.. So the yard that sold me it gave me brand new timkens for nothing and I re bearinged it. Also added a wheel spacer

So far Im into the truck for around $2000 let me know what you guys think of my pile!

Updating this out of boredom...
Got the front Regeared to 4:10

Krusty's T case skid i got fo free is in

Got some free X terrains (I know Procomps) Better then the Bald BFGs!

Before last Rausch trip I needed front recovery points so we made a front bumper out of some 2x6 1/4" C channel welded on some Drings and im good to go! not bad for an hour n a half of work


Ran Rausch with it hit blues and blacks and the truck did amazing!






Heading back to Rausch This weekend and Im gunna beat this thing some more!!

Quick update Complete offroad one ton steering kit has been ordered and the 8.8 carrier is getting pulled tommorow to weld up! The factory LSD is shot and I dont have the cash to lock it so welding it is!

Havent updated this in awhile got some things done on the jeep and also broke a ton of shit...

Got the one ton steering in thanks to dan at solofab who reemed the knuckles for me. I've already managed to bend the passenger tie rod end by catching a tall stump on the trail.




8.8 Carrier has been welded which has made a HUGE improvement in how this thing wheels


My pro comps have let me down yet again and I blew the front right tire at OER so this winter I will be in the market for tires..

Also managed to bend the unibody a bit my front doors now close like total shit debaiting on what to do about this.... any thoughts?
