This is my 88 comanche build. Was just starting as a h.o swap with a 3 inch lift. It's become a little more, and I have even more plans now after helping mike and seeing some good high quality parts, realizing theres so much more. I used my 96 2 door as a donor vehicle, 4.0 h.o, 5 speed, np231, all OBD II complete wiring swap and drivetrain. So right now it has 5 inch coils in the front, and a spring over rear, which gave me about 6 inches of lift back there. I pulled the 35 axle in favor of a 8.25 29 spline open rear. Also had to do front lower control arms, nothing special, cheap
For now i'm running cheezball 33x12.5x15 wilderness a/t's
but for 10 bucks a piece they're mint. unfourtunetly on stock steel 5 stats right now, only minor rubbing at full turn on the c arms, and a little on the spring, but ohwell. I want to get a long arm kit for the front now, anyone tried out rough country's, or is there a better kit out there for about 600 bucks ? or maybe i'd go up to 800. i'm not going to add anymore lift, very happy with how it sits, but i do plan on replacing the rear leafs with new ones, and a revolver style shackle. Also after smashing my steering on a rock out bak of the house, gotta upgrade that, it was absolutely ridiculous. i have like 4 stock setups, well 3 now, but i can see my jeeps just gonna want to eath them.
looking a jcr setup, probally but the OTK. also plan to do some sorta armor before i get into any real trail use, as my body is in really nice shape on this. i'ma try to keep it nice as long as possible.
i'll keep posting as i go on with the build.
