      really? Well this destroy my MPG? Lets say 35s though, 37s are end result(when i take the TJ off the road)

      so 35s HP44/D60 auto tranny you think 5.13s?

            you should really listen to him he does his research he has soo many wheeling rigs and has to tell his mommy what to buy

            • I don't think 4:88 would be a terrible choice, but what do I know. What t-case you plan on running plays a factor.

              IIRC Vetteboy runs 4.56 with 38.5's and a 231/300 doubler.

                • axles are not the only place to gear, you also have transfer case and even can do a transmission swap. I dont see the point in over gearing the shit out of the axles when you can do it in other places that adds to the whole thing 4.88s and a crawl box would be dope and a nice crawl rate

                        right now I have a 32RH and 231. I have a feeling I am going to have to change the trans out, was just going to do a 32 or 42(03 and up TJ with OD) The transfer case I am still undecided. I was considering a Rubicon Tcase to save on cost and then the other option is an Atlas. I dont know if I want to drop the coin on an atlas just for the TJ though.

                          • and for the folks saying just get lower t-case gears.

                            why not get even lower axle gears? it will help you gettin around on the street, its easier on the tranny, and acceleration is fun.


                            with lower case gears and higher axle gears it will be nice offroad, but also puts a ton of added stress on driveshafts/u joints.

                            4.56 for 32-32
                            4.88 for 33-35
                            5.13 for 35-36
                            5.38 for 36-37
