cherokees are nothing compared to what a pain in the ass the thunderbird dash was to pull outOriginally posted by Luke95 View PostMakes sense but also sounds like a major pain in the ass

wont do it, the TCM is a separate module, so the objective i believe is to take it out of the equation completelyOriginally posted by Luke95 View PostCan I get my comp flashed when I do the swap? Or will that not do it?

Makes sense but also sounds like a major pain in the assOriginally posted by Lycaon View Postswapped the engine harness and computer. its still looking for a signal from the auto trans so i might try unplugging the TCM or i might have to swap in the dash frame/dash harness from the 97 parts xj that had a stick so theres no TCM circuit, and thatll also net me the ignition killswitch for the clutch

completed the swap at 1 this morning, took it for a test drive and all seems to be well, the drive in to work this morning went smooth, its just a matter of getting used to the direct drive and the torque that the auto was sucking up

waiting on the transfer case shift cable to come in from novak, then i have to find time to swap in the 5 speed, and once the harness is in i can bolt on the supercharger and get it tuned... believe me when i say, its taken way longer to get to this point than i had hoped

had to replace my SET10 bearing and seal on the drivers side of the 44. the vent had ripped through its threads and allowed salt water to get in when i was driving through flood areas in the days after the hurricane. so i went to drain the old gear oil and replace it i give you this for your viewing pleasure:

BABY SHIT GEAR OIL STANK....
so after doing that and previously replacing my rear driveshaft AGAIN, the jeep is driving smoother than it has in a long time. unfortunately the rear gears still whine as they always have so theres still that but ive dealt with it thus far without much issue. im just glad to not hear screaming bearings, smell boiling gear oil on my rear rotor, or have the driveline clunk into gear because of a shitty shitty slip shaft on the rear DS.....
