All else is good, runs like a champ, everything that should work does

Did someone swap in the d44a? Those were only supposed to come in the 5.9 limited in 98 not that old of a zj.

I think 95/96 and newer ZJs with V8s got D44a's. I see them all the time with them and my unlce has a 96 with a d44a in it.

I haven't run it on anything slippery yet so im not sure how its working. From what I remember, when it starts to fail you get wheel hop and skipping in tights turns like you would with a locked tcase in 4 wheel. I havent experience anything like that so either its working fine or its gone the latter way, and itsnt transfering any power to the front. Ill know more after I wheel it the first time...

if it works, im leaving it for a while. I dont need it to be an awesome wheeling rig, and the 249 is siiiiiiiick in snow/rain.

I may have spoken too soon, I took a look under and the pumpkin looks similar to a 44a but the cover def looks like a d35, so im getting a build sheet from chrysler.

From what ive read the 95.5's started getting the 44a with a tow package and/or v8. So we'll see. Crossing my fingers, but even if its a 35c im pretty sure the 44a used c clips as well and im not going bigger than unlocked 33's for now anyway.

Stick a magnet on the differential housing, not the cover. If it sticks, D35. If it doesn't, D44a.

Yeah i read that trick. Instead I just stopped being lazy; rolled it out of the mud and took a real look under it. 35c, definitively.
