        What's wrong?
We cleaned it, I sprayed it with some anti splatter spray and then grounded it off the carrier. The gears were welded securely with enough heat. The ring and pinion were covered to protect from splatter... So what's the big deal?

Yes I welded brackets, with hundreds of hours of welding under my belt.

looks like it's coming along well. the v8 steering wouldn't be a bad bet. more importantly than what steering you run, be sure you wheel smart. don't do something stupid that will cause your tie rod to get smashed in the rocks. have a good spotter. i had stock steering my first time to rausch and it didn't even get touched and i did black trails on 33s. be smart about your wheeling, and definitely bring the backup steering and you'll be fine.

                        Question for you guys
Say I have $500 to spend on my rig,
                        Do I
Do a ax15 swap and a zj steering setup?
                        Better tires?
Control arms and hiem or one ton steering?
Or some better firm valved shocks and shock hoops in the rear? An then steering?
I'm leaning towards the ax15 swap

My aw4 is starting to get bitchy it needs a torque converter and seal

I wouldn't spend the money on Control arms and hiem unless you going long arms. I all so prefer an AUTO for wheeling but that's just me. My vote upgrade you steering.

Keep with the auto for wheeling, it's so much better. And aw4s are cheap

Buy a set of clayton uppers and lowers and call it a day, eventually do one ton steering and a front locker. Done, finito
