  • "The Ugly Panda"

Its been a while since i have posted about the project that has replaced my wheeling rig, lots of things have been going on...preventing this from being a quick build.. but as some of you have found out from coming to pick up parts at the house....its been a long, ongoing build/rebuild.

We had a pretty big scare the chassis was on its last legs, due to some rust issues/soft metal, around some of the rear suspension.....hours of sandblasting later...

And some new metal installed over at 137 Fab, and shes good to go.

Some more work was completed on the dash (note this isnt the final order of the gauges themselves....

Towing it home tomorrow to do some final fittings with the adapter plates to install the newer style intake manifold/sensors on the older phase 1 JDM motor....to change over to phase II (allow us to tune with a laptop), then eventually the panda goes back to ECS (East Coast Swappers) for the final stage of the build/rebuild. It will be like a new car for us once its done.

Stay tuned....sucks to be on the sidelines for so long....our last two seasons have been cut short, on the fist event due to engine failures, caused by the same underlying issue which is now resolved....just not easy to recover financially from it, year after year.
