  • Alright. Bought the WJ rotors (bought ZJ rotors yesterday as well.)

    Flipped the ZJ rotor upside down on the WJ rotor and spun it about 1/2 between the WJ lug holes and used a centerpunch and eye balled the center. Going to drill them out tomorrow. Is that a 5/8" drill bit? (I know i can clearance it out but i want to try to get it dead on first shot.)

    I also bought WJ brake pads. (2001 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0 is what i used on advanced auto.) Is there a difference in the front brakes on WJs? Do i need the V8? The brake pads i bought don't even look close to the ones in my current WJ rotors. (see picture)

    Also, Does anyone know where to get a WJ brake caliper bracket bolt? I have one of the stock ones, and the other one is just a hardware store bolt. I want to get the right bolt in there. I bought the wrong ones from advance and don't see the right ones.

    Here's a picture of the brake pads next to eachother. Ideas?

    • Uhhh did they give you rear pads? Also WJs have 2 different types of calipers. Teaves and Akabono

      • They look like rear pads to me but I've never changed WJ rear brakes so I don't know.

        I know that but do you know if the pads vary?

        • Those are rear pads. The change to akebono was 03. You need to know which calipers you have. I started with the teaves, and ended up buying the akebonos because the teaves I had sucked. Much better design.

          • So I should buy 04 WJ pads and I should be set? I have akebono calipers.

              • We're good. Got that dilemna figured out.

                Need to get the caliper mounted tomorrow and see if my 3.75" BS wheel fits and clears nicely.

                Just pulled the plug on 35x12.5x15 BFG KM2s.

                What should my next round of upgrades include to prevent failures?

                Currently have;
