project free jeep. 98 xj

i have always wanted to do this and i have finally gotten around to it. i started with a 98 xj that i picked up for 4 hundred dollars. it was a roll over that sustained minor damage to the pillar. and there is no title. i was gonna part it out but with only 135k and everything in such great condition, i didn't have the heart to tear it apart. so i decided to make it a project. with already having my yj i didn't want to spend any more money so i made it a theme. everything that goes in on or around that jeep has to be free or damn close to it. i sold things like the bumper, seat, and tires to make my 400 back. then i started by cutting away at the fenders, relocating the vacume ball and horns, taking off the sway bars, and adding a set of 31 inch all terrains that my cousin gave me. he switched to mud terrains. the ATs are by no means good tires. the tread is low but its all i got at the moment. i added a set of KC's that i had laying around. and took it wheeling. it did suprisingly well. it went everywhere my yj went outperforming some of the other jeeps that were with us. next in store for it is a set of 3 inch skyjacker coils for the front along with the lower control arms. those were off another jeep i parted out. i am going to do a bastard pack on the rear. im gonna try and post some pics but i am an idiot when it comes to computers so here goes.

i picked up some diff covers today. nothin fancy but better than nothing and they were cheap. so i put a coat of "idontgiveashit red" on em and while the paint was drying i figured i would put the lift in finally

while the paint was drying i popped the front of the lift in. i know there is alot going on but i was trying to take pics of the springs

after the lift was in i put on the diff covers which proved to be difficult when the paint is still tacky
