The Scarce Red XJ

ok figured i would start a build thread to show what little building ive done so far. k background : got a red (obviouslly) 96 xj in june of 2011 paid 1800 and came just how it sits in the pic bellow.

so when i got the jeep it came with a lovely cracked manifold and rotted muffler, so that was replaced real quick, no pics of maniflod but got some of muffler which is a cherry bomb.

next came brakes, went ahead and got drilled, slotted rotors and 2 sets of hawk brake pads, got some new calipers, and ss brake lines

so after fixing the exhaust and redoing brakes, got some quick discos and went wheelin (just some flexy shots)

and after wheeling a couple times my buddy dirtyjeep92 and I started to look into what was really on the jeep, because the prvious owner had this jeep in his garage for 1 year and drove it once so he didnt know anything about it. after laying under the jeep we spotted an SYE , an upgraded shackle, and coil spacer, and various leaks. but what we noticed most was a loud cluncking when i would flex and we came to the conclusion of my control arms being at a bad angle, which is pulling my axle back and making my tires rip my flares off. so new arms are added to the list.

went to change a leaking pinion seal and was laying under the jeep and for some reason could see my carpet . so seal was put aside and i ripped all the carpet out which was soaking wet. so did some wire wheelin for a week and cut and patched the rust. and found some patches that have been put in before. (black patches).

and now came the monstaliner

then wheeled it, and now i need a new t case chain and output shaft bearing.

sweet XJ dude, I have the same one only I didn't fix any rust and I have double the miles hahaha

I also have a 96 and will be doing some rust/stiffening mods, I've got about the same amount of miles on mine as well.
You dont know what you have for a lift?.. It kinda looks like roughcountry or rusty's.

Thanks guys, I have been blessed with having only small interior rust but it's easy to take care of

And the lift is kinda pieced because I have a RC trac bar, control arms, shocks but. Rustys shackle and idk were the leafs and coils are from, the only info I can pull off them is that the leafs were made in Canada
