Make sure you use the right gear oil, Nicole. Mobil 1 or Mopar 75-140 Synthetic and the Mopar friction modifier that you can only get from the dealer. Dana 30's use 2.5 oz of the modifier and the 44a uses 4oz. Bottles come in 4oz. Apparently it has to have the mopar modifier, no clue why, and nothing else.

WJ D30, isnt any different than any other D30. (well except WMS)
Unless they some how snuck limited slips in the front than there is no need for friction modifier.Dan.

bump.
i have some bad areas of rust on the poor WJ, so over the next few weeks im hoping to get it all fixed. finally upgrading to some real sliders, and cutting out the terribly rusted rockers that are on there now.
looking for a replacement hood, and some body shop work done on the rear wheel well. hopefully after that she is ready to take on the winter.
