  • My WJ Build

OK, so now that I have some money coming in I am deciding to do a mild build on my WJ. No this is not getting wheeled hard, greens, some blues, and some South Jersey sand cruisin. The fact is after a year of passengering, i'm gettin bored. Even if I take it easy on this and cruise around the parks I will still have a blast. I am not trying to beat this up as it is my daily driver. We all know what happened to the last one, I'm trying to avoid that this time.

    So Far:

    2000 WJ Limited V8
Kolak Exhaust - 3" Flowmaster 70 Muffler, Magnaflow Cat
    K&N FIPK Intake
    245/70R16 Goodyear Wrangler SRA's
    Quadra-Drive
    D30/44a with LSD's

    Plans:
4" RC X-Flex kit - Just purchased, it is in the mail. got it used for 450 shipped from a guy in IL (usually 800 shipped from RC). Comes complete with everything including the RC 2.2 shocks, except he said the rubber bushings on the LCA's need replacin. Was on his rig for 5k miles.
(the other arms in the pic are not coming with it.)

As of now I am going with a set of 245/75R16 Rubicon MTR's that Andrews roommate had laying around. They are all about 25% tread or so maybe more. Can't beat that for $40. I will be selling the SRA's most likely. Later on I will upgrade to probably a 265/70R16 (no taller than a 31) and I will be keeping the stock Silverblade wheels, but painting them gunmetal, like this.

Since it has the stupid Rzeppa-Rzeppa jointed front shaft, I may be having to get a Double-Cardon style shaft from Carolina driveline for about $250-300. We'll see how my stock one lasts, but I don't have high-hopes.

Another definite plan is recovery, i'm thinking front/rear tow hooks for now since i can find em cheap from time to time. Other things include 1.5" wheel spacers, some sliders and a t-case skid, but those are not high priorities. I am open to suggestions, but just remember I am not trying to break the bank on this rig, just something to cruise around in and mildly wheel.

do you have a hitch? if so don't bother with rear hooks. sliders/t-case and gas tank skids and you'll be set. i'd say just leave it at that once its done.

also damn you for having 16's i need new tires for the wj

oh and just cause this thread is wayyyyy too on topic for me... needs 60's

Nope, no hitch. I just figured a hook is cheaper and I don't need a hitch at the moment. Who knows, i'll see what I find

And I was never a fan of the Avila's, nor the timberlines.
