  • Front Drive Shaft / U-Joints

    it has been braught to my attention threw a series of funny noises that my front u joints and slip yoke are shot. there is a shit load of play in my hole front drive line, somuch so that it has caused the front diff seal so incinerate and im pissin fluid. im lookin for n e one wit old or spare front drive train parts, and who could lend me a hand in straightnin out this mess b4 its too late.

      like i said before check out fleetpride on naugatuck ave in milford, they're the old connecticut driveshaft and have pretty much everything. 5-297's, 5-760's, CV's, whatever you need they have it, and if not they'll get it for you real quick. they're pretty cheap too, much cheaper than anywhere where you'd have to order it and pay shipping.
      No worries, I'm not actually back, I'm just reminiscing about the old days.

            UPDATE...

            I NEED A DRIVE SHAFT END TO END, INCLUDEING THE CRAZY DOUBLE JOINT
            AT THE T-CASE CUZ THATS WHAT F'ED ON MINE AND TO FIX IT
            WOULD BE LIKE $215

              $215???? I got my whole shaft rebuilt (3 u-joints, brand new DC assembly) and balanced for $100. Call a heavy truck shop.

                yea i did that. i went to fleet pride the old ct drive shaft in milford the guy said like 215 to just rebuild my double u-joint thing off the t-case the "DC assembly i guss" ? idk or 350 for a hole new shaft joints and all end to end bolt it up he said its all HD stuff though.. idk what to do....

                  ok i just took the shaft outta the truck that crazy double joint "DC assembly?" is fawked... n e 1 know of a place i can get it rebuilt cheep or where i can get a whole new shaft / u-joints and all cheep.....????? plez HELP!!!!

                    i rebuilt mine in my basement and now run it in the rear of my XJ. cost like $100 if not less for all the parts

                      fyi, youre lookin for the CV joint section of the shaft.

                      which is the ball/ujoint setup on the case end.

                      fleetpride like mentioned earlier will rebuild it.

                        yea theyll rebuild it alright for $215...
                        but im gettin a full shaft ball/ujoints all of it tmr used for $75
