Looking for a down-loadable program to edit some of my photos. Something like photo shop but free.

Whats out there that people have had good luck with?

What program do others use to open downloaded files? i got a refurbished laptop and it uses Opera which isn't helping very much cause i don't know how to work it

i use one online pixlr works well i guess
