  • D30 carrier, need one pretty soon please!!!

Ok well in all these months of getting parts to build my D30 front I neglected to buy a carrier

Would like to set it up this week so if anyone has one that will work with a 4.56 let me know.

Open, LSD, locker, posi what ever. Just no Lincoln lockers please. 203 592-3872

What's the break point for a D30 for carriers. I have a D30 out of a ZJ that I stripped the axle shafts out of, but the rest of the axle is sitting back there. I believe it is 3.73 gears for the ZJ.

3.73 Is the break. I can get you a new spicer. The price went up this week, I think they are 76$ now. Or a Detroit locker or truetrac
      Dan.

You can have the entire housing if you want it. It's just sitting on a pallet in the barn. I'll verify the 3.73 gears tonight.

For a Spicer, open carrier. Bare. No spider gears or washers etc.

Ok I found a complete WJ front end at a junkyard down the road for like $20 or something.

It's in a 2003/4 WJ with the V8 quadradrive set up, that's the right carrier I need correct?

I don't know what the V8s came with. I know the 98 ZJs with 4.0s had both 3.55 and 3.73. My daughter's Laredo has 3.73s, but that axle I stripped as 3.55 and it came out of a Laredo also. Only thing I can think of is tow package or not is the difference.

I think the quadradrive had some sort of limited slip front

That's what I thought, the front diff cover is off and I saw spider gears so I'm guessing another jeep person was there and didn't take it for that reason. I could step on the lugs and spin each side on its own, the R&P seemed stuck on something. Ill go back tomorrow and look.
