Needed: Driveshaft modifications

Need lengthen a front driveshaft around 6.5 inches or so. Anyone know of any shops or anyone around southeastern ct who can do one for a fair price?

yeah, im looking for somewhere a bit closer. i found one place but for lengthening a shaft its very pricy, and im not to concerened with proper balance and all that because its only used when wheeling and going slow. if i had a bigger welder i would try it myself.

If your not worried about balance too much its not a big deal. Depending on what people want I would say check with tattons driveshaft to see how much a new one is.
Camerota can do them too, I think they do them in north haven, but I dont think they are cheap either.

I got a quote from there and they said it would probably be close to $300 for the front shaft to be lenthened. Ill probably end up building my own out of some square tubing, doesnt need to be perfect.

Fwiw, I cut mine in half, hammered a piece of 1.75" OD DOM into both halves to extend it 5" and it's worked fine. Even put some road miles on it and didn't notice anything, granted my jeep was not the smoothest ride to begin with... But still.

I might try this. I only use 2wd on the road anyway so it shouldnt be that big of a deal. Im gonna take the rear shaft to fleetpride in hartford do get it cut and balanced, they can do it pretty cheap.
And its for a yota, i didnt see any shafts that would work on tattons ebay store.
