oi you would. someone is selling a built raw performance block on nasioc tri state, needs a spun bearing replaced though.
$4,000 motor for cheap

well i gots a spun bearing, but the motor seized pretty fast. so if i come across a 2.5 id like to do the hybrid setup, or i can get a brandy new 2.0 for 1600 with a warranty.

just trying to see what my options are

2.0 blocks are out there for decently cheap ready to go. 2.5's are too but usually need rebuilding

this is the one. $800 has forged CP pistons and black nitride crank. rebuild the bearings and slap it in. its a sick motor

2.5 are garbage as far as my buddy who tunes them says. He noted inconsistancy in the piston manufacturing and that Subaru has been switching suppliers with no good answer for owners that blew ringlands. Just passing along what he tells me. I trust him.

yeah i wouldn't run a stock 2.5 block. i'd say build it up. like i posted, that block has CP pistons and such. if you can find a good 2.0 throw it in. if you can find a closed deck 2.2 that is your best bet
