an 01 Ram 2500 with 80k miles. Truck is from alabama, so there is literally no rust. probably the cleanest 10 year old truck i've ever seen. Ohhh yea.... and its a Cummins

honestly dude you are better off with your xj. diesel trucks= lots of money to fix plus keeping them fueled sucks. Plus it looks like it would be your dd and there is no need for a dd like that unless youre hauling/ working construction. They 4 or 5 times you go to rausch a year is not worth buying something to tow your xj that will make it there or back with few issues with out a trailer. Not trying to be a dick just trying to give you a little insight on it

anything done to the truck? sounds saweet dude. The only thing I would watch out for is if the trans is ok if it was an auto. DDing a diesel is not bad at all and it will get pretty good MPGs if you are nice to it. The only thing that sucks is having to plug it in in the winter time. I say go for it

you dont need that unless you are running an air dog system. or running a shit ton of power where your VP44 cant keep up. These trucks only run about 15 psi of fuel pressure, which the stock injection pump can do no problem, its when you start asking for A LOT of fuel when they start to fail. The VP44 isnt as good as the 12 valves P7100, but it is fine for a stock/mildly built truck.

no ive been reading a lot on them and the number one problem they have is people are not keeping up on maintenance of the fuel system/ line sucking its self in causing low fuel pressure killing the injection pump. the fuel is what cools the pump unlike the 12 valve.
