  • 02 GMC yukon

Wanted to post up here for my parents. They are getting ready to sell our yukon. It's the 5.3, tan, 4wd, leather, heated seats, etc pretty high end set of options. Better than your average tahoe I think. Around 150000 miles but I'll have to check that out.

KBB puts it in fair condition at a bit over 6k.

It's been a beach vehicle all it's life so it is pretty rusty underneath and kind of sandy inside, had the rear brake line blow already but has been replaced. ABS is not currently working, I have been looking into it to try and get it to work and if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them if they've had this problem. I just pulled the ABS fuse since it would kick on under 10 mph and not allow you to comfortably stop rolling up to a stop sign or light but now it is able to come close to locking its tires up. Definitely some more cosmetic things all around as it has been used and not babied at all.

Not the cleanest vehicle around but still works pretty well for a workhorse. I read max towing capacity is 7800 lbs, never towed anything but small sailboats with it like under 1000 lbs.

Thought maybe someone here would be interested in it, whether for towing or family hauling I think it would be solid for either purpose. If it doesn't sell quickly I told my parents I would buy it in the future as a tow vehicle.

If anyone has any interest post up or send a pm and we can talk. I am thinking they will want around 5000 for it but like I said if anyone is interested we can talk.

Rust builds up under the front abs sensors and causes the abs to activate at low speeds.

I've read all about this but haven't had any luck after cleaning them up yet. I cleaned and having pulled the abs fuse, the system won't recognize that the fuse is back in the block now so basically it is abs deactivated. I haven't found out how to 'reboot' the abs yet but did try disconnecting the battery for 20 minutes and it did not work.

Usually you have to replace the front hub bearings. The sensor is inside the bearing and as the bearing loosens up over time it gets rust inside there or the sensor fails/has improper clearance. Just dont buy cheap hubs for it. Either buy an OE or go down to you local Napa and pick up their premium SKF hubs. Stronger than OE and uses all OE wiring harnesses. and a 3 year/45k warranty for whoever buys the truck. Timken, National, Raybestos, Moog, Pronto, etc are all Chinese made pieces of crap wrapped up in a big name box.

That's your daily dose of Napa Know How

it can get kinda fuckin hairy when the ABS kicks in randomly huh? I know I had to do some evasive maneuvers when my truck pulled that shit.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and replace the front hubs since they are a nice single unit. Now after I do that my ABS lights will still be on so I need to figure out how to flash the computer or do whatever I need to do to reset the ABS to realize it has been fixed or whatever. Tried disconnecting the battery for 30 minutes already, is there any other way?

Try disconnecting the battery after you put on the hubs. If not, take it down to a shop that can scan it and erase the codes with a good scanner. Hopefully they wont charge you. if the hubs are the issue, you shouldnt have a problem with the light coming back on. Good Luck

You were right man, thanks. Threw the new hubs on and the light went off after like a minute if that. Pumped

Guys, I got this thing all fixed and my parents want it gone. They are sick of 6 cars and taxes on them. Make an offer on this thing it will be very reasonable. It's a decent vehicle it can DD for ya, make trips, it's super comfortable and luxury amenities inside, can haul lots of big junk and axles, and it can tow 7800 so it could be a solid all purpose truck for somebody.

Seriously, make an offer it likely will not be refused. My dad said he'd be happy with between 2 and 3 grand
