Selling this for my mother. A car in this condition "fair" on KBB lists for $2,800. We are listing it for $2,600 It has 147k on it. Oil changes were always done. Maintenance was always performed by a shop.
Fair condition denotes:
I documented it the best I can, it isnt perfect for sure ( a little rough around the edges paintwise on some of just the plastic cladding) but it isnt dented up at all, or rusted body or anything like that.
Solid everything structure wise except muffler/tailpipe.
The interior is in good shape, the headliner sags in a couple spots, but overall it was kept clean/kept well.
It got a new A/C system in the last year-year and a half.
Last time I personally drove it, it drove fine. I've been told when its very cold it takes a little longer to shift out of 1st gear. Starts fine, so on. If there is interest I will see about taking a drive in it later on and making sure everything still drives fine, before someone comes to check it out.
The dealer told my mother the following (unsure how pressing some of these are, we know how dealers can be):
-Needs rear brakepads and rotors
-Needs new axle boots, left and right in front, axles in good shape.
-"gasket to stop oil leak" - I honestly dont know what the word is on this, that is the only detail I have.
-"new gasket to stop gear fluid leak" - I imagine this means the diff cover needs RTV or a new gasket. I will check which diff.
-new muffler and tail pipe, they are rusted/separated in some way, I will get info on that exactly.
-new set of tires would be a good idea in the future, though they arent smoked.
-probably unitbearings in front need replacing soon
-rear wiper does not work
-sunroof does not work
-the minor plastic bumper cover damage on the driver side is from bumping the wheelbarrow in our garage when it was sub-freezing out, the jeep has never been in any sort of accident or collision.
Anyone who would like to check it out is free to do so, I am doing my best to explain everything about it, but nothing beats checking it out for yourself. Definitely not trying to hide anything, we just want an honest sale and frankly I'd rather this Jeep go to an enthusiast versus the rip off on dealer trade-in. The fact I could do most this work leads me to believe that the majority of SiS wouldnt have any trouble with getting it done.
