Never got into it. I hung out with a lot of stoners during high school and the ones that still smoke haven't done a thing with their lives since high school. Whenever they do come around and smoke, all they do is sit around and are too chill. It is always a much better time to just drink with them instead

I'm kind of amazed at how many people said they haven't... maybe its just the shitheads I grew up around but I dont know many people that have never smoked weed. Smoking and having smoked are two different things imo; smoking consistently is bad for your health, mentally/physically, and bad for your social life. Also, if you're weak and/or stupid, it leads to harder drugs. But the occasional puff or two is just fun and in all reality is probably less-bad for you than a can of soda (which I dont drink btw, heh). Thats why I did it as a kid, and why I still do... the twice a year that I actually do, do.

I personally think it isn't all that bad. Better than alcohol for sure.

I smoke everyday, multiple times a day, and still work a 40+ work week, work on my jeep, and am in school. So its not the drug that the person is doing, its the character of person using the drug thar should be looked at, not this whole gateway crap.

Its like when two friends get in trouble together at a younger age, and when the parents get together, they they try to pass the blame onto anything other then their kid.... Anybody get where I am going with that?

No one can be held responsible for their actions in this world anymore. It's always attributed to some disease, or reason why they aren't perfect. I beg to differ. One beer a night isn't going to kill you, much like smoking only one joint every once in a while. The problem is when you consume too much of it. Since alcohol is a legal substance to all those over the age of 21, it has a much larger and more pronounced following, so people tend to overdose on it all the time. This of the alternative ; Weed pong. You play a stupid fucking game and if the ball lands in your red cup, you have to smoke all that weed, lets say a 1/8 cup full. By the end of the game, are you going to be pretty fucked up? Yes you are. Same thing with alcohol.

Argueing that people are irresponsible and drink/smoke too much doesn't change the fact that it does happen. Where the arguement lies is the fact that an astronomical amount of people die every year from alchohol poisoning and drunk driving, compared to marijuana related deaths.

Never said it wasn't going to happen and you can play devil's advocate all you want. Overuse of any substance will cause problems, regardless of what they are. You cannot deny that, and you cannot deny that using either Alcohol or marijuana in a limited, sanctioned amount will cause less problems if constantly overabused.

Drinking HOW MUCH after years and years? My grandfather has been brewing his own wine which has more alcohol in it than beer and he is at a rip old age of 78 years old and still does wheel alignments at his shop. My other grandfather died at 82 and he smoked cigarettes every day of his life since he was 15.

You still do not understand my point and to be honest, you may never will. Alcohol is only bad because people drink too much of it (right even?) Marijuana just happens to be illegal to have, but that doesn't make it terrible.

x2 phil. Alcohol is bad when people do dumb things with it. You drink to much and drive then you deserve to die. You drink to much and die, well then you should have been smarter. Casual drinking or drinking enough and knowing when to stop are fine and legal. Pot is illegal and terrible for your lungs. Plus it makes you lazy as fuck
