    Hard drive failure

    is the best.

    I just lost every single SiS wheeling run picture, video, and anything related to past wheeling runs...anywhere, anytime. That is 1000s of images/video over 6 years.

    Unreal.

    At a likely 1,500 dollars to recover the data (of what I assume is a physical HDD failure), I am weighing whether it's doable right now.

    Fucking suck-ass. A lot of SiS memories/data and usable HMC data, programs, and general data lost.

    And i literally Just got a 1tb drive for backup purposes.

    Just had to rant.

          i have requests in for quotes right now...in the past people have always told me expect to pay 1200-2000 dollars for physical hard drive failure recovery.

          nothing really caused it, the comp was just sitting here idly and the HDD just started making a racket, and that was that

            ah, technology...

            my mom knows some computer people from her programming days, if you want I can ask her if any of them do that kind of thing.

                theres a kid i went to high school with, goes to school for computer engineering, works at PCW computer, lemme talk to him and see what he says. He fixed my computer for free when it broke, but that was only a $100 job.

                I'm sure he could manage a hard drive recovery.

                that really sucks though. at least most of the videos are on here, sucks for all the raw footage though. How much of it as HMC loss?? hope you can recover those pics though, thats a terrible thing to lose.

                          i do this a lot at work, not a 100% garanty but there is a chance

                            That really sucks! Hopefully you can recover it somehow and inexpensively.

                              I guess SISoffroad is going to be a pay site now.

                              That sucks and we just talked about this at the last comp I guess you didn't knock on enough wood.
