5.2 = 230hp and 300ft lbs.
4.0 = 190hp and 230ft lbs

i would still take the 4.0 cause of reliability


in the 90s ford f-150s you could get either a 4.9 straight six of the 5.0 v8. people chose the straight six for straight up torque and reliability while people would take the 5.0 for straight line hp. to each their own

The 4.0 does have a great record, but if you look around the 5.2 is a damn good motor. Mine is a 102k and i will have no worries about it anytime soon.
