That camera, see how small it is? Smaller than Mr. Gentiles Camera, as well as my beast of a camera..

That camera shoots 6 times the resolution of both his and my cameras... So incredible quality, and to make it easy for non techies.... it makes it look awesome and more like a REAL film... thus sky is not completely white on a clear day, and the shadows are really black..

Now you may ask... "Why IN All that is HOLY WOULD I want to shoot 6 times the resolution of HD?"

Because, mainly for film, when editing, you lose alot of resolution, so for being 6k, you can downres a ton before you get to 2k, which is the resolution film is usually scanned at...

Thus for film and Visual Effects, have 6000x____ images, you have alot more leeway to get the shot exactly right


Plus, their other camera coming in two years, shoot in HIGHER than imax... in Still camera terms, it shoots 250megapixels





Now Some of you may ask, why doesn't Canon, Nikon, Panasonic release camera to combat it? why does Canon only have a 31 megapixel camera...


Reason: The are a corporation, a major company, they release only what they see fit, they don't want to get ahead of themselves and relaesae something that will be uptodate for a decade or more, they want you to buy a new camera every two years, or less, SO YOU HAVE TO SPEND MORE MONEY


Red is in it for the passion of filmmaking, I really don't think they'll care if theygo home with only just their paycheck and enough to make the cameras, thats why they are offering a camera to end all cameras, they are the revolution... thats why I'm obsessed, not because they are offering a nice camera for cheap (It helps though)

I'm in it because I believe RED will deliver...
