  • New Bobber build

    Picked up a 1976 KZ400-S2 for $100.

Replaced the Coil, Points, plugs and condenser. Nice big fat blue spark. The carbs on the other hand are a mess. So the bike is getting converted to a single carb.

    98 CR125 36mm Keihin

Started tearing into the bike. Removed most of the stuff I wont be keeping. Blinkers, aux pegs, front fender, tank. ect.

Everything behind the down tube will be getting removed and new tube put in place for the hardtail. Going to be stretching the bike a couple on inches in the process.

New tank for the bike. Its a Chrome 70's Hodaka Tank. Cost me more then I wanted at $280 but I really like it so I bought it anyways.

Stripped the frame down and started trimming off parts of the frame.

Im going different with the tires on this build. Pirelli MT43's.

      No turning back now.

I havent started putting the new tubes in yet but I did start by lining up the rear axle plates. I tacked a piece of 1/4 to the inside of the stock swingarm so that my new axle plates keep the same inner distance.

I have a few odds and ends to finish up on the hardtail. Crossbars, and a gusset here or there.

Its going to have a hodaka tank. But it is funny when I tell people about the tank no one knows who hodaka is.

That was my first motorcycle. I paid $75 with a parts bike to go with it.

is doesnt have a specific meaning really. but its pretty much any bike that is spriped down to only what it needs-rigid frame(no rear suspension)-straight pipes-no front fender-small ass rear one. kinda like a rat rod bike almost.
